WHAT THE PROGRAM INCLUDES

The Online Dispute Resolution Practitioner Certification Program is an three month continuous learning journey, delivered by ICFML in partnership with Holistic Solutions, Inc. (HSI). 

ODR Practitioner Certification Program is a hybrid live and past materials program. It includes training in ODR and experiencial learning opportunities in tools and techniques for applying ODR in a variety of settings and levels within any ODR platform. What is included in the program:

08 live sessions

This program includes eight 2-hour, live video webinar sessions. Each one of the webinars includes teaching, group practices and Q&A. You will discuss theories and concepts related to ODR and the use of technology in your profession. They give you the basic knowledge and practice you need to feel safe online as a ODR practitioner.

 

Group Discussions

A group discussion in a small group to reflect on your learnings and share your experiences.

 

Recording

Each session can be visualized several times during the duration of the program.

 

Online Learning platform

Our dedicated platform of the program allow you to be in connection with all the participants. Each week, new ODR topics, theories and practices will become available to you through the online learning platform. You are also invited to share your reflections with the group.

 

Certificate

This a certified program in accordance with the latest quality standards for the profession and the recognition of prestigious internationals institutions. 

 

Discussion with 6 global ODR-thought leaders

Contact with 6 global ODR-thought leaders from around the world during the last 30 minutes of each live video webinar. This will provide you with the latest findings from the specific country and help you develop your own ODR practice.

 

 

Reflective Journal

The reflective journal help you practice the habit of reflection and embed the knowledge and experiences you are gaining on the programme. You can after each live session or between sessions reflect on what you achieved, when you´ve been challenged while putting in practice a learning, you can write down some notes about what happened and what you want to do about it in the future.

 

Experiential learning online

Between session you will engage with the group to role play online the concept explained during the live sessions. You will develop and practice facilitating online skills in several environments, gain an understanding of the situation of being online from a broader perspective and learn about effective teamwork with the group. During the program you will be engaged in a Text mediation project, an audio mediation project and a video mediation project.

 

This course will

 

– Focus on giving the participants the basic skills in the 3 environments – Audio, Video and Text to communicate online.

– Utilize ODR as a tool

– Understand what to do and what not to do when facilitating communication using the cyberspace

– Learn the underlying theory and principle of ODR

Content will be in the form of readings (Files or URL’s), audio lectures, chats and threaded discussions with the professors and various global ODR-thought leaders, and participation in simulations or other ODR exercises.

The Course Objectives are:

 

By the completion of this course, as a participant you will:

– Demonstrate an understanding of the origins of online dispute resolution (ODR) and its relationship to ADR.

– Be familiar with ODR applications and how they may be adapted into ADR practice.

– Explore a wide range of contexts in which ODR has been applied to date.

– Practice the use of online tools in a traditional mediation context.

– Reflect on your own personal online behavior, with an eye to improving your capacity for constructive communication and helping others to do likewise.

– Acquire the theoretical foundation necessary in order to extend your use of technology in whatever profession you are.

– Identify how ODR relates to the issues of culture and identity.
